On 31 May, I underwent brain surgery to drain the cyst and prevent its recurrence; I was discharged on 2 Jun and have never felt better. Running has always been my barometer of health and prior to the operation I had completely lost my running mojo and was considering leaving the club. However, post the operation I have never felt better and am running like an 18 year old, trapped in a 52 year old body! Chatting amongst friends at the club, it turns out I am not alone having had interaction with The Walton Centre, I know of at least 6 other club members that have had life-changing involvement with the sector leading specialist neuro-surgery centre.
From Friday 4th- Sunday 6th April 2025, Lymm Runners will be running a ‘Goggins’ ultramarathon comprising 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours (a total of 48 miles in 48 hours!) to raise funds for The Walton Centre Charity in recognition of their life-changing work and, in particular, their support to the members of Lymm Runners.
We are delighted to share that our Admin Manager, Judith Fullard, will be taking part in this incredible challenge alongside Lymm Runners. As a company, we are proud to support this effort by making a donation to The Walton Centre – Lymm Runners’ chosen charity for the ‘Goggins’ challenge.
