On Monday, 21st October, Lorna, Julie, and Don had the honour of visiting Liverpool Women’s Hospital as part of the preparations for the upcoming LWH Strictly fundraising event on 23rd November 2024. This inspiring visit provided us with a closer look at the vital work being done to support families during their most difficult times.
We were warmly welcomed by Kate Davis, Head of Fundraising, and Loren Slade, Fundraising Manager. Their dedication to this cause is truly commendable, and we’re proud to be part of this journey alongside them.

The funds generated through our sponsorship and the Strictly event will go directly toward creating an additional room for the Bereavement Suite which provides a place of comfort and peace for families who need it most. We can’t wait to see what we can achieve together on 23rd November.
The 3rd Annual LWH Strictly Fundraiser
Now in its third year, the LWH Strictly fundraiser is back and more exciting than ever! Set to take place at the iconic Titanic Hotel in Liverpool, this dazzling event will blend the magic of dance with a meaningful cause.
Thirteen courageous contestants will hit the dance floor, competing for the title of Strictly 2024 Winner while raising essential funds for the Bereavement Suite Appeal.
What Is the Bereavement Suite Appeal?
The Bereavement Suite at Liverpool Women’s Hospital provides a private, compassionate environment where families can spend precious time together after the tragic loss of a baby. The hospital aims to raise £100,000 to enhance this suite, creating a more comfortable and supportive sanctuary.
The funds will help the hospital to:
- Add soundproofing to protect families from the noise of the wards.
- Install LED cloud lighting for a calming atmosphere.
- Provide a pull-down double bed to allow partners to stay overnight.
- Equip the suite with comfortable furniture and amenities like a kettle and microwave, creating a homely, self-contained space.
- Incorporate artwork and soft furnishings to create a warm, welcoming environment for families in grief.
This fundraising effort ensures that the Bereavement Suite remains a sanctuary where families can find solace and dignity during their most difficult moments. By supporting the Strictly event, you are directly helping families who need a safe and comforting space to grieve and heal.
